Core Values
House Tearmainn strives to live according to our values. We recognize that it is our actions and not our pretty words that truly show our character, but these values provide a signpost on our shared path. We will all make terrible mistakes and lose our way. By looking to these words we can find a light to guide us back. They also make a pretty cool acronym… φίλος (philos) is Greek for “love”, or “friends”.
- Perseverance – The drive needed to see our tasks through hardship to completion.
- Healing – The healing of our family through true acceptance and unconditional love, of those we cross paths with through compassion and caring, of the community through integrity, and of the world through living well.
- Integrity – The courage to live honestly and in accordance with our beliefs.
- Loyalty – The faith to remain true to those we are bound to in the face of overwhelming circumstances.
- Openness – The humility to love that which is different in ourselves and others, and to experience the world as a place of endless possibility.
- Strength – The will to keep standing, and to help pull up those who have fallen.
