House Tearmainn

I made a priority shift the other day that I haven’t posted about, which is sort of ironic since what I de-prioritized is posting. I still expect to get to it several days a week, but I made a deal with myself that if the “popcorn” tag outgrew everything else it would be time to drop the daily posting requirement. So be it! Better to post something useful infrequently than crap daily. Frankly the number of people who seem to care just doesn’t warrant the amount of sleep deprevation that it was causing me.

Perhaps when things settle down in 14 years or so I’ll have more time for it. I doubt it, though.

Welp, I upgraded the site. As usual with WordPress, it took less time to do the upgrade than to back things up ahead of time. Be damned my paranoia. Nothing seems broken. I really have nothing to add to that tonight. Perhaps I used up my word quota yesterday.

This year’s Master/slave Conference was another amazing and transformative experience for both myself and pais. Like last year, it was more than a little overwhelming. We came away from it with so much to think about and discuss it’s hard to know where to begin.

I spent a fair portion of our return trip meditating on simply how to organize the thoughts and discussions that need to happen as we digest all of these wonderful new ideas. One of the recurring themes in my thoughts while processing this year is that I need to be writing more. What better way to kick that off than to once again use this blog as a vehicle for sorting out my thoughts and feelings on these topics, as well as sharing some of the concepts with the larger world*?

So it is that I return to the world of blogging with a commitment to keep up with writing at least one post a day, even if it doesn’t get posted that day. Even if it just says, “Lousy day, lost ground and don’t want to talk about it.”

Last year we returned with all of this excitement and energy, and I let it dwindle and eventually dissipate. This year, today, right now, I am making the commitment to keep the fire tended and to use what we have learned to our fullest potential. Let’s see if I’m up to the task.

In other news, this looked much longer when being written on the iPod. I suspect this either means that I’ll have a lot of short posts (not necessarily a bad thing) or that I’ll have to find another way to write while out and about.

We returned home from the Master/slave Conference about 20 hours ago. This year’s conference was every bit as thought provoking and amazing as last year’s. I have a post that I wrote earlier today that is waiting to go up, but I discovered when I went to do so that Wordpress has gone and upgraded since I last checked. So, after hours of screwing about with hosting challenges, new themes (I don’t like this one a whole lot, but the posts matter more than the look dammit), and porting over the old posts, I now once again have a functional site.

I wasn’t keen on bringing over the old posts, I wince every time I read something more than a week old, however it’s that very thing that makes it important to do. A little embarrassment on my part that can help someone new to Mastery avoid my mistakes is a very small price to pay. Suffice it to say that I’ve grown, and continue to grow on a daily basis. I would not make those same posts, use those words, speak in that tone, today.

Disclaimer complete. I’ll be working on adding pages, bio’s, and content back to this site in the days to come. I also plan on posting at least daily now. Speaking of which, it’s time to get today’s post up…
